Caused by the decrease in collagen production, usually associated with ageing. Excess amounts of sugar are now associated with signs of premature ageing such as wrinkled or sagging skin.

To prevent further damage, eat foods rich in antioxidants (green, red, orange and purple fruit and vegetables) to help prevent free radical damage to the skin. Zambroza is a wonderful combination of these fruits that prevent free radical damage, not only to our external skin, but to our internal tissues too. For more information, read the article Zambroza, the Great Tasting Anti-Oxidant Drink

Stop smoking

Cut out all items containing sugar, dextrose or sucrose. Sugar is DEFINITELY bad for your skin!

Ensure that you have enough high quality protein in your diet which is needed for the body to manufacture collagen, the substance in tissue that keeps the skin elastic. Try taking Synerprotein as a good protein breakfast every day. To read more about Synerprotein, click here. Another suggestion is to take on a regular basis High Potency Grapine or Grapine with Protectors acts like a cosmetic that we eat. Not only is it good for the skin, but Grapine contains nutrients that pass through the blood-brain barrier and helps to protect our brain from damaging inflammation.

Improve the strength of the cell walls by Increasing your omega 3 essential fatty acids by eating oily fish twice a week, or by taking a tablespoon of mixed ground seeds in the following proportions 1/2 flax seed, and the other half a mixture made up of equal parts of sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds. Use a little coffe grinder, available from Starbucks for less than £15, and grind them every day (the ground seeds become ranced very quickly) and put on your cereals, in your porridge etc. If you aren't able to do this, take a high quality fish oil supplement. Ensure that the fish oil is free of PCB's and toxic metals. We recommend Nature's Sunshine Omega 3 EPA to be taken on an ongoing basis or Flax Seed Oil if you prefer a vegetarian option.

Finally, take a good quality multi vitamin and mineral supplement every day to provide you with the much needed nutrients to prevent tissue damage and antioxidants. Try Nature's Sunshine Super Supplemental that is in a base of broccoli, rosemary and other synergystic herbs.
