Varicose Veinsposted on 18 November 2007 | posted in Health TipsEngorged veins when the valves preventing backup of blood are not functioning properly, causing a pooling of blood in the vein. Usually these occur in the legs, but can occur in the oesophagus and the rectum, when they are described as haemorroids or piles. Always ensure that you are not constipated as this can cause pressure on the liver and portal vein, which can exacerbate the condition. Increase your fibre intake and drink at least 6-8 glasses of water daily. If fibre in your diet is less than 30g per day, you may require a fibre supplement that you can take every day to improve the transit time in your bowel. You could try TNT. Read the article Why Take TNT Every Day. Another suggestion is Psyllium Hulls Combination or, if you prefer taking a capsule, take Psyllium Hulls Capsules Take one of the fibres suggested in the products together with Horse Chestnut and Butchers Broom Combination, which is especially formulated to help improve circulation, strengthen veins and improve elasticity of veins. Adding proanthocyanadins such as High Potency Grapine or the high anti-oxidant drink Zambroza will help to strengthen the veins as well as have many other health benefits. Take for at least 3 months.
