Night Sweats

posted on 23 December 2008 | posted in Health Tips

Something really can be done about debilitating night sweats. Overactive adrenal glands means that high levels of the hormone cortisol can disturb sleep by causing profuse sweating, particluarly on the upper chest area.
Solutions:
In clinic we have found that Biota & Schizandra can help to settle the adrenals and prevent these unpleasant symptoms. A key component of this remedy is zizyphus, which is known to be helpful for sleep and night sweats.

If accompanied by other symptoms, consider information in article Giardia Lamblia, Entamoeba Histolytica and Blastocystis Hominis

Avoid caffeine containing drinks.

An old remedy for night sweats that occur during the menopause is nettle tea - and its free to those willing to go and harvest it! Steep about 2 tablespoons of the fresh herb for about 10 minutes in a cup of boiling water, strain and then drink three times a day.

You can buy nettles in capsule form on this site if this is preferable. Take 2 capsules of Nettles three times per day.
