Clumsinessposted on 18 November 2007 | posted in Health TipsParticularly if accompanied by dry skin, hair loss, cracke heels and dry eyes, this indicates a lack of essential fatty acids. A study was done on elderly people and their higher tendency to receiving a fracture from falling. It was found that those who ate fish at least twice a week were much less likely to fracture a bone. It was thought that perhaps omega 3 oils from fish helped prevent osteoporosis, thus decreasing their chances of fracturing a bone. However it became clear that this wasn't the case. It was because elderly people who were not deficient in omega 3 oils did not fall nearly as much! Their balance was markedly better, hence they wouldn't fracture limbs! Increasing essential fatty acids really works well here. Omega 6 found in avocados and grains, Omega 3 from flaxseed oil and walnut oil. Or take supplement your diet with the nutrients below on a long term basis. You will need to persevere for at least 6 weeks before noticable benefits are felt. If you don't eat enough fish, we suggest that patients take Omega 3 EPA long term. Fish oils can in rare cases elevate cholesterol levels. If so, take pectin at the same time rather than stop the fish oils. Lo Clo works well here. Share this blog entry:
